Jimmy aka "Jimbo"
was born in the famous NASCAR town
of Martinsville, Virginia on December 16th, 1950.
As a child,
he also lived in Richmond and Roanoke, Virginia.
When Jimmy was 10, his family moved
to the little town of Flushing, Michigan
which is just outside of Flint.
A few years later, after his parents got divorced,
Jimmy relocated as a teenager to Detroit, Michigan.
Barely out of high school, Hunter ended up
a top professional Detroit area drummer
and eventually moved to Los Angeles
at age 25 in 1975 to drum for keyboardist
Ray Manzarek RIP of The Doors'
mid 70's Supergroup, NITE CITY in 1976.


Jimmy Hunter
is a CERTIFIED DOUBLE PLATINUM
credited and awarded songwriter
of his song "Rudy"
on "The Very Best Of CHER" album (2013)
which was originally recorded
on her "I Paralyze" album (1982).
